WHO IS THE GUY BEHIND THE CAMERA?
As much as I enjoy geting to know my couples, they always want to know more about me too!
- I am MN guy. I’ve spent 96.8% of my life in the Land of 10,000 Lakes (minus my college years in WI and my first 18+ months of life in Vietnam) and call Lake Elmo, MN home.
- I have two beautiful daughters and I love being a dad! They’re the best of what I've done with my life!
- In 2021, my nephew and I set out to photograph every bridge crossing the Mississippi River from Lake Itasca in northern MN down to the Gulf of Mexico (you can visit our project website here)
- I am always actively working on checking things off of my bucket list (recent notables: visited Vatican City, hiked up an active volcano in Iceland, and rode a camel alongside the Great Pyramids of Giza)
- I cook without recipes. People ask for my recipes and are skeptical when I say “a little of this, a little of that”. During the pandemic, I did create a food blog to entertain the masses!
- Coffee is a need, not a want. I am not ashamed to admit that I spend over $25.00/week on coffee and coffee-type beverages.
- Tacos and burritos bring me to my happy place. Seafood of any kind is right up there too! Ooo…I also love Dairy Queen. Hmm…maybe I just like food.
- I’ve been a Twins season ticket holder since 2003 and the ballpark is my favorite place to be in the summer (except when I’m shooting a WEDDING). My 9 year old and I went to 27 games in 2022!
- In 2019, I reunited with 2 Catholic nuns in Vietnam that were at the orphanage I came from outside of Saigon. It was life changing!
- My iTunes library has an eclectic mix of music, including Metallica, Broadway musicals, George Winston, Kid Rock, Brad Paisley, Journey’s Greatest Hits, Pentatonix, Dave Koz, and of course, many 80’s groups on and off the beaten path.
- I was a vocal music major in college and I have performed in 2 productions at the Ordway with the Minnesota Opera Company. Long before I picked up a camera for weddings, I used to sing at weddings.
